To properly maintain the coat on breeds such as Doodles, Poodles, Bichons, Shih Tzus, Lhasa Apsos, Terriers, Cockers, and other similar hair types, you should have your dog groomed at a minimum of every 6 weeks to prevent matting and other health issues. If they are kept in a very short cut, these breeds may be able to go 8-10 weeks.

Rabies, Distemper, Parvo, and Bordetella for approval for grooming. A signed waiver is required upon first appointment and is good for the life of your pets.

All fees are based on breeds, weight of your dogs, hair coat condition and on the length of time it takes to complete the service. Prices are listed on this website.
How does drop off and pick up work?
Drop off at time of the appointment is preferred. A text message will go out when your dog's groom is nearly completed and will be given a time for pick up. All appointments need to be planned for prompt pick up.
What are anal gland expressions?
Please, communicate if there has been a history of anal gland issues and what that is at drop off, it is very important to not further cause irritation. Anal glands are fluid sacs found right under your dog’s tail. Some dogs are not able to express this on their own and this can cause dragging of the rear on the ground, the dog to keep looking or licking in that area, or a fishy odor may keep appearing. This is checked during the bath to see if it needs a squeeze to help release. If it feels impacted and will not release or feels abnormal, we will notify you at pick up.
How old should my puppy be before he gets his first groom?
It is very important to have your puppy become familiar with grooming as early as possible after puppy shots. Once your vet says your dog can receive a Bordetella vaccination, it is wise to start the grooming training process. This will help him learn at an early age that grooming is a pleasant experience.
Is my pet too old to be groomed?
Please, keep us notified of all ages of the dogs and medical conditions that may be of concern to your dogs. Older dogs do need special attention and handled a little differently, so if your dog fits this category we need to know for proper handling of your dog.
Are customers allowed to stay with their dog during the groom?
The dog owners are not allowed to stay during the groom. This makes the dogs anxious and antsy, making it difficult to complete the groom. During some of the groom, such as when scissors are being used, this can be very unsafe.
How is my dog dried?
All dogs are dried according to what the dog can handle without causing stress to the dog. We prefer hand drying all dogs with a variable speed, high velocity dryer. This allows for a better finished deshed and haircut as well as it allows for a full visual of the skin to assess any potential health issues. If your dog does not tolerate this method, we may use a small hand held drier such as a human drier or we will use a circulating fan in the holding area while your dog is allowed to roam freely in the holding pen area, or a hand held human hair drier will be used. There is no hot air cage drying in this salon.
What happens during the groom if my dog is matted?
When your pet is extremely matted, tangled, or impacted to the skin, there are increased risks of stress, trauma, or injury and the process of mat removal is often painful or can cause irritation to the dog’s skin if forced in the way of brushing. If your dog is matted, we will discuss with you what can be done. Matted coats can cause a variety of skin and health problems, so the matting must be removed. If your dog's hair cannot be brushed and combed out, then the only way to remove the mats without causing pain and trauma to your dog is by use of a clipper that will go below the matting, which will remove the mats, creating a very short haircut. When possible only the matted areas will be shaved with the clipper, such as: behind ears, on the rump and under tail, etc. In some situations the entire dog may need to be shaved down with the clipper.
Why does it appear my dog's ears have been cut or bleeding at the tips?
If your dogs ears were matted and had to be shaved, be aware that hematomas may arise. This is a blood rush after removing the matting which was creating a tightening and a cutting off of the blood circulation of the ear. The instant flow of blood creates a bursting of the blood vessels and the pressure ruptures a hole in the skin causing it to drip from the lowest point of the ear.

Your satisfaction is very important to us! Please, at pick up feel free for to ask for something to be adjusted. If you notice something after you leave, please contact us so we can arrange a time to fix the issue while the dog is still clean.
